Karen joined Haviland & Sams in 2008 as Financial Office Manager / Bookkeeper and strives to maintain balance between an efficient work environment for the Team while overseeing office finances and interacting with the firm’s clients and vendors.
She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Communications from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and has taken subsequent courses to earn her Accounting Certificate. Karen is also a Notary Public for the company.
Prior to joining Haviland & Sams, Karen worked in the fields of marketing and advertising as well as office administration for high technology companies located in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Transitioning into Accounting has been challenging and rewarding for her.
Karen resides in Connecticut with her family, including their two rescue dogs. Pastimes include traveling, photography, and cultivating her gardens.
